How Do Pets Work in Grow a Garden?
In Grow a Garden, pets are your farming helpers who work 24/7. Each pet has a special ability that makes your life easier. Some pets help your plants grow bigger, others give you free stuff, and the really good ones can even duplicate your crops. The better the pet, the more helpful it is. Most pet abilities stack, which means having multiple pets of the same type makes their effects stronger.
You can get pets by buying and hatching eggs from the Pet Egg shop. Different eggs give you different types of pets, and some are way harder to get than others. The rarest pets have the best abilities, so it’s worth saving up for the expensive eggs.
Your pets need to eat to keep working. If their hunger bar hits zero, they stop gaining experience and can’t age up. Feed them any crops you grow. Bigger and rarer fruits fill them up more. Moreover, as pets get older, their abilities get better, too.

How to Hatch Eggs in Grow a Garden?
Once you buy an egg, place it in your garden just like a seed. You can hatch up to three eggs at once . Wait for the hatch time to finish, then interact with the egg to get your new pet. Here is the step-by-step process:
- Place the egg in your Garden.
- Get close to it and press E or interact with it.
- It will show a timer on top, and once the timer goes to 0, the egg will start shaking.
- After the shaking stops, the egg will hatch automatically.

How to Use and Level Up Pets in Grow a Garden
You can only have three pets active in your garden at once. They will wander around and use their traits automatically. To keep them growing and make their traits stronger:
- Feed Them: Hold a fruit in your hand. Click on your pet, and it will show three options: view, pick, and feed. Select the feed option, and it will automatically feed the pet. Remember to keep their hunger bar full so they can earn XP. Even when you’re offline, they stop leveling if their hunger hits 0.
- Pick Them Up: This returns the pet to your inventory. Useful if you want to change which pets are active.
- View Stats : Check a pet’s name, age, weight, hunger, and skill details. As pets grow, skill cooldowns get shorter and effects get stronger.
Pet Mutations System
Once your pet reaches age 50, you can give it a mutation at the Pet Mutations machine near the Pet Egg shop. This costs 500,000,000 Sheckles and takes about an hour to complete, or skip for 49 Robux . The pet gets reset back to level 1 but gains a powerful new ability on top of its original one.

Pet Trading System in Grow a Garden
Trading is a great way to get the pets you want without relying on luck from eggs. You can trade pets directly with other players, but be very careful because there’s no protection system.

To trade pets, both players need to be on the same server. One player offers their pet by clicking on it and selecting “trade”, then the other player can accept or decline. The trade happens instantly with no way to undo it. However, be super careful when trading because scammers are common. Here are some important safety tips:
- Never go first unless you completely trust the other player.
- Use a middleman (trusted third party) for valuable trades.
- Take screenshots of what was agreed on.
- Don’t trade for promises of “later”. Get everything in the same trade.
- Be extra careful with rare pets like Kitsune or a T-Rex.
Pet Slots and Storage
First, you start with only 3 active pet slots , but you can unlock up to 8 total slots by trading in older pets. Here’s what you need:
- Slot 4 – Trade a pet aged 20+
- Slot 5 – Trade a pet aged 30+
- Slot 6 – Trade a pet aged 45+
- Slot 7 – Trade a pet aged 60+
- Slot 8 – Trade a pet aged 75+
You can also buy extra slots with Robux if you don’t want to wait. You can store up to 60 pets total in your inventory, but only active pets in your garden will use their abilities.
Pets are a fun and helpful part of Grow a Garden. They can make a real difference in how fast your plants grow and how much money you make. Try out different combinations and keep checking the egg shop for rare finds!
