Foldable phones are like electric vehicles: cool, cutting-edge, and clearly the future. Just like EVs are ditching gas guzzlers, foldable phones are saying “bye-bye” to boring rectangular phones. Let’s face it: our pockets have been stuck in the Stone Age of slab phones for too long. Whether you’re a multitasking ninja or want a phone that makes people say “Whoa!”, these best foldable and flip phones are here to upgrade your life (and your style).

Price : $1999

Why We Recommend It:

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the pinnacle of folding phones. It combines great-quality hardware and software in a single package. Not only is it the thinnest foldable you can buy right now, it is the thinnest and lightest foldable ever created by the South Korean giant. Measuring just 4.2mm when unfolded and 8.2mm when folded, it’s sleeker than your regular phone. Despite being thinner, it’s more durable thanks to the new Advanced Armor Aluminium Hinge. You also get Corning Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover screen and the back of the phone.

Who Should Buy It

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the phone for you if you want the best of productivity and practicality. Coming to the main highlight of the phone: the display. You now get an 8-inch inner screen, the biggest on a Z Fold. Similarly, the cover screen has also seen a bump in size to 6.5 inches. The wider aspect ratio should make it easier to type on the phone. Another noticeable upgrade is the 200MP primary borrowed from the S25 Ultra. The phone ships with One UI 8 based on Android 16 with 7 years of OS updates. However, Samsung has removed the support for S-Pen and switched to a punch hole camera setup instead of an under-display one. Despite these shortcomings, it remains the best foldable you can currently buy.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

Being a thin and lightweight design, it’s only natural to expect some compromises. Starting with the price, the $1999 tag makes it the most expensive foldable phone. Even if you ignore the price tag, the lack of an S Pen is glaring, especially for power users. Last but not least, the 4000mAh battery means you need to charge it twice a day, and the 25W charging doesn’t help either.

Oppo Find N5- best foldable phone - 3

Why We Recommend:

Who Should Buy It:

If you don’t want a foldable with a Samsung logo, the Find N5 is the one to get. Once you unfold the device, there is a massive 8.12-inch inner display waiting for you. The 5,600 mAh battery can easily last a day, and there’s 50W wireless charging support. For optics, you get a triple camera in collaboration with Hasselblad. It includes a telephoto lens with 3x zoom capabilities. You also get stylus support for multitasking and smooth animations with ColorOS 15. The display is bright enough for usage indoors as well as outdoors, and you get a barely visible crease. The only thing that holds back the Find N5 is its limited availability.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

The only thing that hampers the Oppo Find N5 is its limited availability. The phone is not available in markets such as the US or the UK. Furthermore, the OS update support falls short of the 7-year promise that brands like Google and Samsung offer. Last but not least, the average ultrawide camera lens might disappoint those camera enthusiasts.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate - 4

Why We Recommend It:

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate is a one-of-a-kind design. It is the best foldable phone if you want a unique phone that can transform from a phone to a huge tablet within minutes. Just unfold it once, and the 6.4-inch cover screen transforms into a 7.9-inch one, which is close to the iPad mini. If you want an even bigger canvas, you can unfold it to get a 10.2-inch screen. It remains the only foldable in the world to offer a triple folding design.

Who Should Buy It:

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate is the one to buy if you want a one-of-a-kind device. Being a tri-fold, it’s a rather unique device that has no competitors around. You get the ultimate multitasking experience with sharp 3K panels. The phone is made for early adopters, and it’s a unique device that can transform from a one phone to a tablet at your command. Despite the sharp screen, you get superfast 66W wired and 50W wireless charging,g apart from a triple camera setup in a thin form factor.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate is not for the pragmatic or budget-conscious consumer. Its astronomical price tag places it firmly in the luxury category. It is an immediate non-starter for anyone deeply integrated into the Google ecosystem, as the lack of official Google Mobile Services in HarmonyOS can be a dealbreaker. Furthermore, power users and mobile gamers should look elsewhere. The Kirin 9010 processor delivers only mid-range performance that is outmatched by conventional flagships. Finally, anyone concerned with durability should be wary, as the complex tri-fold mechanism comes with no official IP rating for dust or water resistance, making it a fragile and expensive device to own.

Reasons to buyReasons to skip
✅ Unique design with triple fold screen❌ Slow performance compared to the competition
✅ Sharp 3K 10.2-inch screen❌ Exposed screen raises concerns about durability
✅ Premium vegan leather design❌ Too expensive
✅ 1TB of storage❌ Too heavy at 298 grams
✅ Decent cameras with 5.5x optical zoom❌ HarmonyOS isn’t optimized for foldables
✅ Long-lasting battery life❌ Limited availability
✅ Superfast wired and wireless charging

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold- Best Pixel Phone - 5

Why We Recommend It:

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the most durable phone in the list with an IP68 rating. You get a gearless hinge that should make folding and unfolding easier. And who can offer a great software experience, other than one from Google, the maker of Android? It runs on Android 16 out of the box and gets all the fancy AI features. But the best part is that you get Pixel’s computational photography prowess and AI features. It is also the longest supported foldable phone with 7 years of OS updates. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for durability.

Who Should Buy It:

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a great choice for those deeply invested in the Google ecosystem. You get all the AI features apart from Magic Cue, split screen, and instant view. It is also the first foldable to use the Tensor G5 chipset based on TSMC’s 3nm process. With a 5015mAh battery, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold can easily last an entire day, and it’s the first foldable with MagSafe charging support.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is not for the hardcore mobile gamer or power user. Its Tensor G5 chip is optimized for AI tasks rather than raw CPU and GPU performance, meaning it may lag behind Snapdragon-powered competitors. It’s also not ideal for the multitasking master, as Google’s split-screen implementation is more limited and less feature-rich than Samsung’s One UI. Finally, the aesthetics-driven buyer might be put off by the potentially more prominent bezels around its inner display, a design choice that prioritizes function but falls short of the nearly all-screen look of its rivals.

Vivo X Fold 5 - 6

Why We Recommend It:

Want a slim foldable with top-notch cameras? Go for the Vivo X Fold 5. At just 4.3mm unfolded and 217g, it’s one of the thinnest foldables ever. It features a Carbon Fiber hinge, IP58+IP9 protection, an 8.03-inch inner display with 5500 nits brightness, and a 6.53-inch cover screen. The 50MP ZEISS-tuned triple camera setup stands out, powered by a 6000mAh Silicon Carbon battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless reverse charging. A perfect blend of design, display, and photography.

Who Should Buy It:

The Vivo X Fold 5 is the ultimate foldable who want the benefits of a large screen with a massive battery. You get a huge 6,000mAh battery, and fast charging makes reliable foldable. With a carbon fiber design and IP rating, it’s a foldable that doesn’t compromise on durability to maintain its thin form factor. With its 8-inch inner screen, you can take your productivity and multitasking to the next level.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It

For those looking for the best performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Vivo X Fold 5 won’t cut it. Also, FunTouchOS doesn’t offer you the same level of polish and multitasking as OneUI or Pixel’s stock Android. The constant barrage of notifications from the V-app store and bloatware isn’t the premium experience you are looking for. We hope that these issues will be fixed with the upcoming OriginOS update.

Reasons to buyReasons to skip
✅ Stunning cameras❌ FunTouch OS feels outdated
✅ Slimmest and lightest foldable❌ Plenty of bloatware
✅ ZEISS camera lenses❌ Annoying notifications from the V-app store
✅ Powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
✅ Triple IP Rating

✅ Barely visible crease

Motorola Razr 50 - 7

Why We Recommend It:

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is the most powerful flip phone you can buy. It features a 4-inch edge-to-edge cover screen, a premium Alcantara finish, an IP48 rating, and a tougher hinge. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it’s packed with Moto AI features for quick actions like checking the weather or curating playlists. The near-stock Android experience keeps things smooth. You get a solid camera setup, though no telephoto lens, backed by a 4,700mAh battery with 68W wired and 30W wireless charging.

Who Should Buy It:

The Razr 60 Ultra is made for those who desire a flip phone that looks as good as it performs. With an attractive vegan leather design and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite, it’s the most feature-packed flip phone to buy. Furthermore, you get all the cool AI features and a display that is bright and vibrant. Motorola’s UI is pretty close to Stock Android, so at least the user experience won’t disappoint potential buyers.

Who Shouldn’t Buy it:

If timely software updates and multitasking features are your top priority, the Razr 60 Ultra isn’t the one for you. The lack of a telephoto lens and the high price tag will only deter potential buyers. If Motorola can improve its track record of delivering timely updates, it will emerge as a Z Flip killer.

Reasons to buyReasons to skip
✅ Huge 4-inch cover screen❌ Only 4 years of OS updates

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 - 8

Why We Recommend It:

The Samsung Z Flip 7 brings the biggest upgrade to the series yet. It now features a 4.1-inch cover display with slim bezels and a larger 6.9-inch inner screen, all folding into a compact form. Built with the new Armor Aluminum hinge, it measures just 6.5mm unfolded and 13.7mm folded. It’s also the first flip phone to support Samsung DeX for desktop use. Backed by a bigger 4,300mAh battery and Samsung’s strong ecosystem, the Flip 7 stands out despite modest hardware changes.

Who Should Buy It:

The Z Flip 7 is made for those who want a reliable and practical foldable. With the latest One UI 8 and 7 years of updates, your phone won’t be getting outdated anytime soon. Thanks to the Armor Aluminium frame, you can fold and unfold the device multiple times without any stress. The primary camera has also been improved, and it boasts the biggest cover screen on a Samsung flip yet. So if you have been holding off on your decision to buy a Samsung flip, this is the one to buy.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

Despite the major upgrades, the Z Flip 7 isn’t made for power users. Exynos 2500 is nowhere close to the latest flagship chipsets, and it is more of an iterative update. Another disappointment is the lack of a telephoto lens, which competitors like the Find N3 Flip offer. The 4,300mAh battery is an upgrade over its predecessor, but power users will still need to charge the phone twice.

Reasons to buyReasons to skip
✅ Android 16 with One UI 8❌ Exynos 2500 isn’t the fastest
✅ 7 years of OS updates❌ No improvement in charging speeds
✅ Bigger 4,300mAh battery
✅ New Armor Aluminium Frame

✅ Improved 50-megapixel camera compared to Z Flip 5

Best Foldable and Flip Phones (October 2025) - 9

Why We Recommend It:

For those looking to get the best cameras on a flip phone, the Oppo Find N3 Flip is the one for you. It is one of the few flip phones that offers an ultrawide angle lens and a telephoto lens as well. You have a 50-megapixel triple camera setup in collaboration with Hasselblad, and it can capture some amazing photos. While the N3 Flip arrived with Android 13, it has received the Android 15 update and will get 2 more years of updates. Oh, and just like OnePlus phones, you do get the alert slider, which the company is removing from future phones. The Find N3 Flip packs a sizeable 4,300mAh battery and supports 44W wired charging.

Who Should Buy It:

If OnePlus ever made a flip phone, then it would certainly be the Find N3 Flip. You get a smooth yet familiar software experience with ColorOS and even the same Hasselblad cameras found on OnePlus flagships. Furthermore, it’s the only flip phone to boast an alert slider, so you can silence your phone on the go. Other noteworthy features include 44W wired charging, a similarly sized battery as the Flip 7, and a triple camera setup with a telephoto lens.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

The only factor that goes against the Find N3 Flip is time. It’s nearly two years old, and this means you will get OS updates for another two years. The Dimensity 9200, once a flagship chipset, isn’t the most powerful processor around. Another pain point is the lack of wireless charging, which can be a dealbreaker for some. Last but not least, Oppo has stopped focusing on flip phones and has not released the Find N5 Flip, so finding a new N3 Flip can be a herculean task in itself.

ProsCons
✅ Massive 6.8-inch inner screen❌ No wireless charging support
✅ Huge 3.26-inch cover screen❌ MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is outdated
✅ Alert slider, just like OnePlus phones❌ Only 2 years of OS updates left
✅ Fast 44W wired charging
✅ Decent 4,300mAh battery

Best Foldable and Flip Phones (October 2025) - 10

Why We Recommend It:

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is a sleek, feature-packed flip phone. It sports a 4-inch cover display and a 6.86-inch 120Hz inner screen. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and HyperOS 2.0, it runs smoothly. It’s the first flip phone with Leica lenses, featuring 50MP main and telephoto cameras for impressive shots. A 4,700mAh battery with 67W fast charging keeps it going. Though limited in availability, it’s one of the best and most affordable premium flip phones you can get.

Who Should Buy It:

You should consider getting the Mix Flip 2 if you want a clamshell foldable that does everything good at once. You get a massive cover screen and 512GB of storage as standard in the base variant. It remains the only flip phone to pack a 4,700mAh battery and 67W fast charging. The screen is also pretty vibrant, and the crease on the inner display is barely visible.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

Availability remains a major concern if you are planning to buy the Mix Flip 2 since it’s only limited to the Chinese market. Even if you manage to buy the phone, the lack of an IP rating means you will need to protect it from dust and water. Also, there’s no wireless charging here or a telephoto lens like some of its competitors.

Reasons to buyReasons to skip
✅ Large and vibrant cover screen❌ No IP Rating
✅ 4,700mAh battery, largest on a flip phone❌ Limited availability
✅ 67W fast charging❌ No wireless charging

AnTuTu Score: 1.7 million

Best Foldable and Flip Phones (October 2025) - 11

Why We Recommend It:

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is the most “affordable” flip phone from the company. Sharing similarities with last year’s Z Flip 6, it brings a familiar design and specifications. Although you get Exynos 2400 instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. On the front, you will find a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch panel when you unfold it. Given the similarities, you get the same Armor Aluminium Hinge and Victus 2 as last year.. The good thing is that the Z Flip 7 FE starts at $899, which is cheaper than the $1100 tag of the Flip 7. It’s the flip phone to buy for those on a budget. The good thing is that you get 7 years of OS updates.

Who Should Buy It:

The Z Flip 7 FE, unlike the other flip phones in this list, focuses on affordability. It is cheaper than the Flip 7, which makes it accessible to a wider range of audience. Despite the cheaper price, you get the same Armor Aluminium Hinge and Victus 2. With 7 years of updates and Galaxy AI features, it’s a great entry-level flip phone for first-time buyers.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It:

The Z Flip 7 isn’t designed for power users, as Samsung has made some major compromises. It uses the Exynos 2400, which is even slower than last year’s Flip 6. Furthermore, the design is the same as last year’s Flip 6, and you don’t get Dex support. Another change is the 8GB RAM and 128GB, which is a downgrade compared to the 12 GB+256 GB base of the Flip 6. You also get the same 50MP+12MP cameras as last year’s model, apart from a 4,000mAh battery. It’s better to buy a Flip 6 if you can find one at a similar price.

Reasons to buyCons
