Starting the Game

When you first join Devil Hunter, you’ll spawn at the Headquarters (press N to find it on the map). Talk to the NPC near the entrance to start the tutorial. They’ll show you how to buy weapons, spend stat points, and choose a division . You can pick between five weapon types. The best beginner weapons are the knife because they have good combos and fast attacks. Pick whichever one feels right to you.

Choosing Your Division

After the tutorial, you need to pick a division. Start with Division 5 or Division 6 – these are the easiest ones for beginners. You’ll need to complete division quests to rank up, so doing the easier divisions first helps you progress faster. Avoid Division 3 until later because it requires killing other players and doing bounty hunting, which is harder when you’re new.

Doing Missions

Press N and go to Missions to start earning money and XP:

  • Cleanup Duty –
  • Hold the Line
  • Aftermath Detail

Important: Other players can invade your missions and try to kill you. Learn how to parry attacks because PvP happens a lot in this game.

Stat Points and Skills

Every time you rank up, you get stat points. Here’s what each stat does:

  • Health – Your HP
  • Strength – How much damage your basic attacks do
  • Speed – How fast you move
  • Sanity – Devil ability power
  • Technique
  • Resistance

Press N and go to Skill Tree to see what skills you can unlock. Each skill needs specific stat requirements. For example, some skills need 20 Strength and 15 Medium Weapon proficiency. Your weapon proficiency goes up automatically when you use that weapon type. Just keep fighting with your chosen weapon and it’ll level up.

Crafting Weapons

Go to the Division 2 Captain’s room in the Headquarters to craft weapons. You’ll see a crafting table with all available weapons.

Good weapons to craft:

  • Kuchigatana (Medium weapon, 10 damage)
  • Kasaka’s Fangs (Light weapon, 8.5 damage)
  • Scarlet Queen (Medium weapon, 8.5 damage)
  • AK-47 (Firearm, 9 damage)

To craft weapons, you need Devil Flesh from killing devils . Common Devil Flesh drops from basic devils, while Uncommon and Rare Flesh drops from harder enemies.

Getting Your First Contract

Contracts give you powerful abilities. The best first contract is the Future Devil contract.

Go to Floor Zero in the Headquarters (press N to find it). You need 30 devil eyes and Junior Hunter rank. Buy devil eyes from the Black Market if you don’t have them. Talk to the Future Devil and complete the rhythm minigame (you need 1,800 points). This contract gives you a counter ability that does lots of damage.

The Mantis Devil contract is also really good. Find the Mantis Devil on the map and fight it. You need to deal 70% damage while taking less than 10% damage to get the contract.

Raids

Once you’re a higher rank, start doing raids with friends. There are three raids:

  • Zombie Devil Raid
  • Eternity Devil Raid
  • Katana Man Raid

Raids give lots of XP and have a chance to drop rare weapons and the Katana Man hybrid transformation. Check out our Devil Hunter wiki for more guides.
