Kohana Island just got a massive revamp in Fish It, and it’s way better than before. The developers completely redesigned the layout to make everything easier to find. Plus, the best thing is, when you accidentally fall into the lava, you don’t respawn on Fisherman Island anymore. You just respawn from the latest spot in the volcano, which really saves time. Let me walk you through what’s changed and what you need to know about the Kohana Island makeover in Fish It!

Fish It Kohana Island Revamp
The updated Kohana Island POI is split into three parts now, and each one has different stuff to offer:
1. The Main Island

This is where you’ll probably spend most of your time fishing. You have the sea on one side and a small water channel running through the area. The fishing spots here contain most of the same fish species that were available before the update, making it a great place to grind and earn coins. There are also new quest NPCs located in the dock area. They offer good rewards, so don’t miss them.
2. The Kohana Volcano
If you follow the water channel until you see a cave entrance, that’s your way into the Volcano. Inside, you’ll meet a new NPC called the Hazmat Leader who gives out quests. However, it’s quite a grind. You need to catch 1,000 Magma or Lava fish and collect 2,000,000 coins . When you complete these tasks, you can get the new Hazmat Suit , which you absolutely need for the next area.

You can also buy the Magma Charm here for 20,000 coins . This item is very important because it boosts your chances of catching the rare Magma Shark.
3. The Volcanic Cavern
This is the endgame area where the rarest fish hang out. You can’t even get in here without the Hazmat Suit from the quest I mentioned earlier. Once you’ve got the suit, look for the teleport prompt next to a volcanic hole. Confirm if you want to teleport and you’re in!

The Volcanic Cavern is where you can catch the Magma Shark, and even a new Secret fish called the Ancient Magma Whale. Catching this fish will get you a free Inferno Core rod skin . Make sure you bring your best gear and don’t forget to equip your Magma Charm to improve your luck.
Fish It Volcano Event in Kohana Volcano
Every four hours , the Volcano erupts and creates special lava-boosted fishing zones all around the island. These zones only stick around for a short time, so you need to move fast when the event starts.

The zones spawn in random spots, so you’ll need to explore quickly with your boat to find them. Keep an eye on the countdown timer in the water channel area so you know when the next eruption is coming.
The Kohana Island revamp is a huge improvement. Everything feels more organized, and there’s actually a clear progression path now. Start by fishing on the main island, save up for the Magma Charm, grind out the Suited Up quest, and then tackle the Volcanic Depths. Don’t forget to play during the Volcano Events for those bonus fishing spots. Good luck out there!
