Tidefall is the newest underwater location added in Fisch’s version 1.67 update , offering players access to challenging hunts, powerful fishing rods, and exclusive mutations. Unlike other locations that simply require traveling to a specific map area, accessing Tidefall requires a bit more effort. This guide covers everything you need to know about accessing Tidefall, the step-by-step process for finding the entrance, and more.

Requirements to Access Tidefall
Before you can access Tidefall, you need to obtain specific equipment that allows you to survive the extreme depths where the location is hidden. Without this gear, you won’t have enough oxygen or swimming speed to make it to the bottom before drowning.
- Submarine – Costs 150,000C$ and can be purchased without completing any submarine quest.
- Advanced Diving Gear – This extends your underwater breathing time significantly , allowing you to survive the deep dive to Tidefall.
- Super Flippers – These f lippers increase your swimming speed , making it much faster to navigate through the deep ocean areas.
Both the Advanced Diving Gear and Super Flippers can be purchased from NPCs in the game. If you don’t already have these items, acquire them before attempting to access Tidefall
How to Get to Tidefall: Step-by-Step Guide
- Step 1: Before starting your journey, make sure you have both the Advanced Diving Gear and Super Flippers equipped in your inventory.
- Step 2: Go to the shipwright and spawn your submarine. The submarine will help you conserve oxygen during the initial descent and make navigation much easier in the deeper waters.
- Step 3: Enter your submarine and navigate to the Tidefall event location marked on your map.
- Step 4: Once you’re at the Tidefall event location, dive down as deep as the submarine can go. The submarine has a depth limit and can only descend so far before you’ll need to continue on foot (or rather, by swimming). Use the submarine to get as deep as possible while conserving your oxygen for the final descent.
- Step 5: When the submarine reaches its maximum depth, exit the vehicle and continue swimming downward manually. This is where your Advanced Diving Gear and Super Flippers become critical, you’ll need the extra oxygen capacity and swimming speed to make it the rest of the way down. As you descend, it will get progressively darker, so you may want to increase your monitor brightness to see where you’re going. Keep swimming straight down toward the ocean floor.
- Step 6: Continue descending, and you’ll eventually reach the entrance to Tidefall.

Tidefall introduces five new bestiaries filled with exclusive fish species like the Lantern Fish and Peppermint Batfish. Start fishing in different zones to discover and catalog all the new species. Each zone appears to have its own unique fish that count toward specific bestiary completion. Check out our guide on everything new in Tidefall update.
